Darting quickly
This slender ciliate darts quickly forward and backward, and sometimes changes directions. The cilia surrounding its mouth are highly active. The body tapers to the rear end, and its sharp tail is covered with cilia.
Commentary by Prof. Yuji Tsukii, Hosei University
This organism may be Uroleptus or a related genus. There are many species in the class Spirotrichea, which makes their identification difficult.
